I hope that the Romanian courts have begun to address the illegal blockade of curteaveche. I’m very glad, but not at all surprised, to see that so many Romanian intellectuals have expressed their support for your publishing house. As Elie Wiesel once stated, “Words can sometimes, in moments of grace, attain the quality of deeds.”
In this spirit, and in the hope that the cumulative effects of words of support from authors can help motivate the right actions from the government, I made a youtube video in support of curteaveche.ro. The main idea behind it is that this blockade is not just an illegal act against a particular business, but also a blow against Romanian culture and its image internationally. Please know that my intentions are good and my thoughts are with you.

We were very shocked to hear yesterday about the barbaric & criminal act that has been committed against your publishing house last week, and – on top of it – the unwillingness of the Romanian authorities to maintain the law. We wish you all the strength you need in this outrageous situation and hope the authorities will take their responsibility immediately.
